Our Location – Cairngorms National Park

The Rumblie is situated in the small Highland village of Laggan, with in the Cairngorms National Park, and close to the other small villages of Newtonmore and Dalwhinnie.  We can be reached by public transport, by cycling, by walking and by car.

By Rail

The nearest stations are Dalwhinnie at approximately 6 miles, Newtonmore at 7 miles and Kingussie at 12 miles. All are main line stations for services between Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, however not all services at each station. A Taxis (01540 667040, 0784 073879) service is available but must be pre booked by prior arrangement. On occasion we are able to collect guests’; again this is by prior arrangement. By Coach

The Scottish City Link Edinburgh to Inverness service has stops in Newtonmore and Kingussie.  Taxis are available but must be pre booked by prior arrangement. On occasion we are able to collect guests’; again this is by prior arrangement.

By Car

Take the A9 from Perth or Inverness to the junction with the A889 sign posted Dalwhinnie and Fort William. Drive through Dalwhinnie and to the junction with the A86, about 7 miles.

Turn right towards Newtonmore and cross over Laggan Bridge. Turn left at the sign for Laggan and Gergask, Laggan Store will be on your right, continue down this road, going past the lay by and the Medical Centre; the Village Hall will then be on the left on the corner, take an immediate left here and follow our sign.

Local Public Transport

Guests planning a visit without their own transport should be aware we have no bus services to or from the village.

Walkers & Cyclists

We are well placed many of the Coast to Coast walking and cycling routes that go from East to West and of course visa versa, we are at the head of the glen from The Corrieyairack Pass and The East Highland Way comes via the village and National Cycle route 7 passes close by. Locked storage for bikes is available.
